Description
Searching for a word is a quiet way of learning it. To find a long Jain word hidden in a grid, the child has to hold the spelling in mind and scan for it letter by letter, and by the time the word is circled it has been read a dozen times. Because each puzzle is built around one topic, the words on a page belong together, and the topic itself is learnt alongside the vocabulary.
Good for: children aged 5 and up, and adults who enjoy a puzzle with their morning tea.
How families use it: keep it in the travel bag for train journeys and waiting rooms, set one puzzle a day during Paryushan, or photocopy a page for a pathshala class as a warm-up. Children who finish it can continue with Jain Activity Book for Kids – Book 1.
