Samadhi Maran

Samadhi maran, a peaceful and aware death, is held in the Jain tradition to be the last and most important sadhana of a life, and the book here is written to prepare for it long before the moment arrives. It walks the reader through letting go of anger, attachment and grudges, asking forgiveness for what was done knowingly and unknowingly, and forgiving those who wronged us, so that the final thoughts are of the soul and not of the world.

Families read it through Chaturmas and at a pratikraman shibir, keep a copy by an elderly parent’s bedside, and distribute it at a prarthana sabha or shok sabha in memory of someone who has passed.
