6 Dravya

The 6 dravya, or shad dravya, are the six substances that make up the universe in Jain philosophy: jeev, pudgal, dharma, adharma, akash and kaal. The board book here introduces them to the youngest children through bold pictures on black and white pages, the contrast a baby’s eyes hold onto, so the words are familiar long before the ideas are.

Read it in the pram, keep it in the toy basket, and give it at a naming ceremony, a first birthday or a baby shower as the first Jain book on the shelf.
